Oh. OK.
It looks like the Park was a pretty nice place after all. Lovely southwestern architecture and nice landscaping. A refreshing oasis at the end of a long and dusty day of motoring. No trailers, no dilapidated coffee shop. And, at the time of this post card, no pool.
The PARK MOTEL and PARK MOTEL ANNEX on U.S. 285 in Artesia, New Mexico, offers 30 delightfully comfortable units the year round. The Park is Air Conditioned in the summer and choice of floor furnaces or thermostatically controlled Panel-Ray in winter. All units have private phones and lovely tile baths. Two large lawn parks and playgrounds assure pleasure and safety for the children and parents alike. Six blocks from the heart of town. In the heart of oil refining and cotton producing center of New Mexico, the Park Motel of Artesia is just one hour's drive from Carlsbad Caverns.
Air conditioning in the summer is a definite and mandatory feature; in the winter, we have a choice. I'm sure the floor furnaces are quite adequate, however, I think I will go with the thermostatically controlled Panel-Ray equipped room. I don't even know what that is, just that it sounds like some of that Space Age Technology we've been hearing so much about.
And of course the Park is only six blocks from the heart of town; in the memory of my childhood, everything is only six blocks from the heart of town.
