This postcard reminds me of my Grandparents' neighborhood, which it should, as Richardson Avenue runs parallel to Quay Street, right across the park. In my memory, of course, the roads are paved and the trees much taller, and the cars are full bodied and fendered.
But the sky is the same: big.
This postcard was mailed by J.H. Burchett from Artesia on April 27, 1914, to W.B. Burchett in Harrisonville, Mo. J.H writes (among the how-are-you's and the will-write-more-soon's): "This is a fine looking country. May stay here awhile."
I wonder if he did.
