This is a beautiful shot of the steam powered Daylight as it slides past the Clark Lagoon, outside of Santa Barbara. Unlike many of the other streamliner postcards, the train in this one does not dominate the scene– it's a bright but brief line across the middle of the view. In a moment it will be gone, leaving this scene for the next, until this time tomorrow.
According to the caption on the back, the foreground plants that frame the Daylight so nicely are "the red blooms of aloes and the gray green foliage of agaves."
