One on side, a glimpse of a place, a thing, an event. On the other side, a jotted message in a few brief sentences: How are you? We're having a great time. Will write a longer letter later.
Unfortunately, the era of the post card has come and gone. In the early 20th Century, post cards were an inexpensive way to send a brief message to loved ones or get a souvineer of places visited and sights seen.
At the beginning of the 21st Century, the instant feedback of digital cameras and omni-presence of cheap e-mail access are replacing the form and function of the post card.
But even if we are no longer sending new postcards, and are instead collecting old ones, they still serve the same purpose: they give us a glimpse of things that interest us, and of the way things were.
