The Champion was Florida East Coast Railway's New York to Miami streamliner, with three 7-car trainsets going online in December 1939.

The Champion boasted that the Florida's vacation playground was a "mere" 24 hours away from New York City. Now we can wake up in New York City, fly to Miami for a meeting, lunch, and little sunning or shopping, and then jet back to NYC in time for dinner.

But would that be as much fun as kicking back in the club car of speeding streamliner?
