I'm not a stamp collector, but I have a stamp collection...

This stamp collection is sort of a minor archeological find. My wife and I discovered this cache of stamps in my Grandmother's secretary desk, which we are fortunate to have. The stamps were hidden in the not-so-secret secret compartment of the desk; they had remained in place even after the desk had been cleaned out and shipped from New Mexico to North Carolina.

The stamps were contained in one of my Great-Grandmother's stationary envelopes that was marked "stamps for collections". The span of postmarks indicate that this collection must have been started by my Great-Grandmother and completed by my Grandmother.

At around 75 stamps, it's not a big or even valuable collection. But it's my collection. It is my responsibility to see that these stamps, collected by a mother and daughter for over 50 years, are not lost to history.

Here for your enjoyment and edification, then, are selections from the stamps from my Grandmother's desk, presented in folios of a few to a half-dozen (or so) stamps each.
